Stanton Breaks Ground on New Norm Ross Sports Park

an important investment in recreation and our community’s future.

A Community Milestone

Community members, City officials, and project partners gathered August 15 to celebrate the groundbreaking.

Construction began in July, with completion currently projected for 2028.

A Modern Park for Stanton

Located at 11111 Cedar Street, the approximately four-acre park will become a modern recreational destination for Stanton families.

The project is supported by $7.69 million in Proposition 68 state grant funding, reducing the impact on Stanton’s General Fund.

Connecting Our Community

A new pedestrian bridge will connect Norm Ross Sports Park with Stanton Park.

Additional improvements planned for Stanton Park will help create a larger, safer, and better-connected recreational area for the community..

Moving Forward

After initial construction bids exceeded the project budget, the City Council unanimously rejected the bids and rebid the project with a revised scope.

Construction began in July 2026, with completion currently projected for 2028.

An Investment in Stanton Families

Norm Ross Sports Park will be a place where children play, families gather, neighbors exercise, and our community comes together.

I’m grateful to our residents, City Council, fellow Planning Commissioners, City staff, and partners who helped move this project forward.

I look forward to seeing this park serve Stanton families for generations to come.

  • Shaded picnic areas

  • Walking trail and landscaping

  • Shade structures

  • New fencing and perimeter improvements

  • New pedestrian bridge to Stanton Park
